Kyra M. Sedgwick (born Kyra Minturn) is an American actress and television personality. Her name is well-known all over the planet but especially in America. Sedgwick's passion for the arts, Broadway and acting began when she was just 12 years old. Her mother showed a keen fascination with the Broadway and introduced her to it. Sedgwick received her first professional role when she was 16 years old in the television show "Another world". Her first television roles were not big, however Sedgwick was determined to become a well-known actor. In the movie "Born during the 4th of July", in which Tom Cruise also starred, Sedgwick was noticed for the first-time on the big screen. Sedgwick was approached for more roles following this success, such as: "Singles", 'Heart and Souls"as well as "Phenomenon", etc. When she was just 22 years old, she married the actor Kevin Bacon after working in the TV show Lemon Sky. Sedgwick was a star in American television for her outstanding performance in "The Closer" which was a seven-season television series which won her the Golden Globe Award and Emmy.
